AYSO Duke City Shootout 2008
Soccer Tournament
May 17-18, 2008
Introduction
The fourth annual Albuquerque Duke City Shootout will be held in the heart of the Southwest, at the foot of the picturesque Sandia Mountains. Just an hour from historic Santa Fe, Albuquerqeu is the perfect setting for a May tournament. Numerous tourist attractions and moderate temperatures of the high desert make Albuquerque the perfect place for fun, on and off of the soccer field!
Come and play! Ride the Sandia Peak Tram! Visit Old Town! Visit Santa Fe! A good time is waiting to be had by all!
Location
The tournament will be held on 15 fields at the beautiful Farmers Insurance Soccer Complex in Bernalillo, just a few minutes north of Albuquerque.
Format
Each team is guaranteed 3 games; four games will be scheduled if possible.
- U9 and U10 - 7-a-side.
- U11 and U12 - 9-a-side.
- U13 and up - 11-a-side.
- Game durations and details will be as shown in the official rules.
Brackets
he Albuquerque Duke City Shootout will be bracketed by individual years, if there are enough entries to do so. Odd ages may be rolled up into the next even year division (i.e. U9/10, U11/12, etc.) Bracketing within each division will be determined by competition level.The tournament will be organized around the following brackets.
- U9: August 1, 1998 to July 31, 1999.
- U10: August 1, 1997 to July 31, 1998.
- U11: August 1, 1996 to July 31, 1997.
- U12: August 1, 1995 to July 31, 1996.
- U13: August 1, 1994 to July 31, 1995.
- U14: August 1, 1993 to July 31, 1994.
- U15: August 1, 1992 to July 31, 1993.
- U16: August 1, 1991 to July 31, 1992.
- U19: August 1, 1988 to July 31, 1991.

Roster Limits
Rosters for AYSO teams will be limited as follows:
- U9/10: 10 players and two coaches.
- U11/12: 12 players and two coaches.
- U13/14: 15 players and two coaches.
- U15/19: 18 players and two coaches.
Rosters for Club teams will be limited as follows:
- U9/10: 10 players and two coaches.
- U11/12: 14 players and two coaches.
- U13+: 18 players and two coaches.
If numbers permit, age groups may have Gold, Silver, and Bronze brackets. In divisions without sufficient numbers, odd years (U-9, U-11, etc) will be rolled up into the next older bracket.
Four guest players will be allowed per team.
Awards
Medallions will be awarded for every player and coach on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams in each bracket. A medallion will be awarded to every player and coach on the team exibiting the best sportsmanship in each bracket. Every coach and player will receive a participation pin, and every referee will receive a coin.
Entry Fee
U9-U12: $200 plus $50 refundable referee deposit.
U13+: $250 plus $50 refundable referee deposit.
Registration
Download and fill out an application form and send it with a check for the registration fee payable to "AYSO Duke City Shootout."
Deadline for Registation extended to May 2, 2008.
Mandatory Check In
All teams must be represented at the check in on Friday May 16, 2008 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.
Check in will be held at the Marriott Pyramid Hotel, 5151 San Francisco NE, West of I-25 between the Osuna and Paseo Del Norte freeway exits.
At check in, all teams must provide:
- Medical releases.
- Proof of age.
- Passcards for each player and coach.
- Photocopy or original signed roster, (as described under "Player Eligibility" in the official rules).
- Travel papers, if traveling from out of state.
- Guest Player Forms for all guest players.
