1000 Miuntes to Better Soccer

Improve Your Soccer - Enjoy a Party!

The 1000 minutes program is for players who work on their skills outside of games and normal practice times. You can do this alone or with a friend. Attending PowerSkills counts towards your 1000 minutes.

How do you do it?

  1. Download the 1000 Minutes Form.
  2. Keep track of your minutes on the form.
  3. Give it to your parent(s) to look over, verify and sign.
  4. Give it to your coach to verify and sign.
  5. The coach emails the 1000 Minutes Coordinator, Terri Lohnes, to let her know of your accomplishment.
  6. The 1000 Minutes Coordinator sets up a big party and invites all the 1000 Minutes players to come.

The deadline for turning in your 1000 Minutes forms is May 10 each year.

What Should I Practice?

Lots of parents and players are unsure what is the most useful way to spend 1000 minutes of practice. To help, AYSO has created a wonderful manual, 1000 Minutes to Better Soccer. Your humble webmaster has used this book for years to help players train, and now it is available for you to download.
