U5 Boys

Great uniforms... nice colors. Thank you!

Over half of the teams we played all had green jerseys, making it more difficult for the refs to have two green teams playing one another.

I am not really sure of the sizes above as I'm not familiar with youth sizes pertaining to my child. I do know that my son wears a size 4T shirt and 3T in pants/shorts. Hope that helps. Thank you.

the shorts had a slit seam, stained on the front and the elastic waistband was very stretched out and couldn't tighten with draw string!

I am assuming that size Youth small is equal in size to about 5T-6T. If not, he would wear the next size up, Youth Medium.

U5 Girls

the waist was difficult to my child- it was hard to tie using the draw string- it might be easier to have an actual 'tie' on the shorts to tighten the shorts. The shirt fit her fine.

Excellent sizing!!

I know they dont get any smaller than xxs, but it would have been nice to have some XXS shorts in the mix.

The shorts were big on all of our girls, you may want to shoot for the smaller XXS shorts next year.

U6 Boys

I liked the uniforms, they were comfortable and easy to clean. The shorts fit well so they did not gape open when my child tumbled around.

This was the second uniform he has had. The first shirt was way too small. When it was reordered, a Medium was sent and it is better than before. It would be GREAT if somewhere on the registration form there was a spot to put your child's size. That way, when teams were formed, uniforms could be ordered accordingly and each child would have a proper fitting uniform.

Please order larger sizes! Usually there is only one larger size uniform (or none at all!) per team and we end up having two boys who need it.

We thought all the teams looked great in their uniforms. The colors are nice and vibrant for everyone.

It was just a little bit too big, not bad though.

More contrast with the colors. For u5 Boys the jeresy's were very similair camo print. sometimes the only way to tell them apart were the color of shorts. How about adding solids/stripes/plaid as well.

At the beginning of the season we had to return the shorts for a smaller size because the only sizes given to the coach were too large for our son.

U6 Girls

the shorts are always WAY TOO BIG!!!!

My daughter is the tallest/thinnest girl on the team, but the shorter girls were heavier and required bigger sizes, so their shorts went to their knees and my daughter was constantly pulling hers down to cover herself up.

I am very disappointed that my daughter received such a large uniform--it is almost impossible for her to wear. I will need to buy separate shorts and socks for her. I know this is NOT the size I put down when I registered her for soccer.

We should have some measurement guide when the kids sign up in the spring.

The uniform for all the players on my team were too big. Drop the entire team order sizes by at least one size.

The hem on my daughter's sleeve unraveled when we washed it for her to wear for the first time. Besides that, the quality and fit were good.

U7 Boys

We didn't get a say in what size they got. At practice last fall, the coach brought a box full of uniforms that were sent for the team, and we all just had to pick and choose. Just because my son was one of the tallest on the team, he had to have a larger size; but he is acutally one of the skinniest on the team, so the shorts almost fall off of him! It would be nice to be able to choose a uniform size on the registration form.

Typically, the uniforms are too large, but this year it worked out for us.

The uniforms fit well - a little large in the beginning of the year which was perfect because it gave him room to grow and fit perfect by the end of the season.

These are a lot nicer than what I have seen in some of the other leagues in town. Thank you for using the money wisely and getting our kids something that is comfortable for them to play in!

NO WHITE SHORTS

These were very nice uniforms compared to some of the other leagues in town. Shorts could be a little longer but otherwise great!

My son currently only has his grandfather as a father figure. I am a single mother and his biological father has not seen him in over 4 years and I feel that it will be a wonderful thing for him. He says everyday that he wants to play soccer, I truly believe that it will help him develope good disipline and values and good freindships. Michael is a smart boy and very excited about playing soccer and always likes to play in the backyard kicking the ball.

If the uniform requested is not the right size, we should be able to exchange it.

U7 Girls

My daughter is the tallest girl on her team and so she got the largest uniform, but the uniforms for all the girls are way too big. Maybe start the unform sizing a little smaller for this age group so they would have a better chance at fitting on at least some of them.

For the younger teams, my team had 3 uniforms that were extremely small on the girls. I emailed and called several times and could never get any resolution. it is better if they are too big, then too small

My daughter loved her uniform this season!

She probably wears a small but I believe the shorts run big so she might be able to even wear an extra small.

U8 Boys

I really like the diffrent colors and partterns that have been added in the 5 years since my kids have been playing AYSO. We have never had any major issues with uniform sizing. If anything longer socks would be nice, but that wasn't part of the question. Thank you for what you do.

When it comes to uniform size we try to get ones with the number 7 or higher or else it would be too small by the second half of the season.

My son doesn't mind if uniforms are a little large. He likes to continue wearing his jersey after the season is over. As such, we haven't experienced any problems. Thank you.

Does AYSO ever recycle past uniforms, either within the organization or as a donation to other groups?

it seems that too many large shorts are purchased for each team, especially for the u5-u8 teams.

Tough age! At the start of the season, the shorts were way too huge for him, but he grew quickly.

Every year my son has played, the shorts ALWAYS shrink! I wash them in cold water & don't dry them!

This is the first year in 4 that the uniforms weren't huge.

The shorts were WAY too short but the quality was great. All in all nice uniforms.....

U8 Girls

uniform a little big in fall, but player grew into it more in the spring

I do not actually know the sizes, but my daughter is in the 5th to tenth percentile for her age and has a July birthday (hence since nearly the youngest). I have had to completely remake the shorts each year she has played.

The shirts were so long we had to take it to a seamtress to eliminate over 12 inches of material. Our daughter is the tallest in her third grade class, so she is tall for her age and the shirt was extremely long. Thank you for asking for our opinion! We appreciate all you do for the children.

Fit for this one was just right, although there was a "tussle" for the larger Jerseys at the beginning of the season.....

The colors were fun. The girls like having different patterns if possible. Thanks.

I'd also like to see smaller socks for this age group & under. The socks they got end up being very bulky around the toe area and hard to get smooth in the shoe. Also, looking back over the season, our team as a whole was smaller than most so we ended up with some kids who had really oversized clothing. The shorts in particular were a problem because if they are too big they just won't stay up even with the drawstring. I ended up taking in about 2" on the waistband of my daughter's shorts. Since they are stretchy and somewhat oversized anyway, I would order more small size shorts for this age group.

This is the first year playing, not sure what the size chart is for youth. A chart would be helpful on this page :). Thank you.

This last year we had the WORST uniform socks and shorts ever. The very tight polyester socks were very small and cut off kids circulation. Horrible. the shorts ran so small that we had to order extra because they didn't fit anyone. Please order nice bright colors for the GIRLS! My daughters had navy, slate grey, rust, and my boys had purple, pink ,red, and orange. Also, within an age group, get different colors! Many times the teams playing had nearly or exactly identical uniforms!

The size did not impact her ability to play, but they are clearly too large. But then she is very thin.

I did the survey anyway, but my daughter is small for her age...so dont take her sizes into consideration...she fit fine in the number 2 jersey this year, so will probably do fine again for 8s...

By the time they start playing again in August, my son will be in a Youth Large. I hope that's the question you were asking above.

the socks were horrible!! they were a polyester-type blend, difficult to put on, way too hot to play in . . .

Our son hated the new type of socks, in fact he found the color he needed from last year and wore those instead. He preferred the cotton/poly blend, the new ones are too tight and don't give.

The socks were way to tight and difficult to get on over the shinguards.

We've never had a problem with the size of his uniforms. He actually likes to get them a little bit large and then he wears them for the next several years. He's very upset that his first shirt (from 4 years ago!) is now too small for him. Sheesh! Thanks!

My son's uniform fits well because he's a tall but slender kid. His best friend who is also on the team is similarly sized and ended up with the adult small shirt and shorts. It is WAY TOO BIG on him! The tucked in shirt hangs out beneath his shorts which are double knotted just to stay up! I have seen some kids on other teams that benefit from this big size, but I think maybe each team should be supplied with one extra uniform of a "normal" size. I know it would cost players more at registration, but I'd rather pay extra and see every kid get a uniform that fits.

I'm REALLY not sure what is correct. I looked on the website for guidlines (height, weight, measurements equals what size?) but I could not find any!

The goalie jersey was pretty huge on most of the kids on our team.

The socks were awful this year! Very hard to put on, stiff. Much worse than previous years. I heard complaints from many other parents as well.

U9 Girls

I was informed that I would have the correct size uniform if we put the request in. As of present we never got the uniform. This season is almost over. I had to spend an extra $25.00 to have it altered to fit her. We are also informed that when we sign our kids up for AYSO soccer it ONLY costs us $75.00 including uniform. Why would a 8/9 year old need an Adult L uniform outfit? We have spent more money than your ONLY $75. My children love AYSO soccer. I of course love that they do but I have to tell you that I am EXTREMELY disappointed with the uniforms for children and empty promises to correct the situation.

Every year the uniforms are TOO BIG for my daughter. My daughter is always the smallest player on the team. Because we were out-of-town for the day the uniforms were passed out my daughter this year she got an Adult M. The shirt is too big on me (MOM)!! I would really like to see more of the smaller size uniforms for the teams.

Maybe before you order the uniforms for next year you send out another survey on the size the child is wearing at that time due to the child growing over the summer.

Our uniforms were mostly white with minimal color on the arm and neckband. These stain easily and dirt is hard to remove. We have another player with a red shirt with white trim and the darker colored uniforms are definitely easier to care for.

For the U 10 and under divisions stop ordering anything larger than a youth medium. The teams usually only get one or two smalls and most of the players are small and medium. The shorts are always too big.

My child is one of the smaller kids on the team and her uniform is small for her. The smallest size should be YM and then larger since most of the girls are larger than Alexa.

U10 Boys

He was the tallest on the team so he got the biggest shirt but it was way too big.

Team had too many small socks and need more medium socks.

We received these items initially and our son was only able to wear the shorts for a couple of games in September. Since then he has been wearing his own shorts since we could not get a replacement.

I am not sure the reasoning behind ordering asult sizes for 9-10 yr old boys. My son is the tallest kid on his team, which means by default he gets the biggest uniform. He looks like a duffel bag. The sleeves on the short sleeved shirt hang past his elbows, the tail of the shirt comes to his knees and the shorts hang well below his knees as well. This is the 5th season my son has played, and the worst fitting uniform he has ever had. I am extrremely disappointed with the unifort sizing this year.

The shirt was too big by just a hair but that size --Youth Large--will fit for at least two seasons. For us, the shirt being a little too big is fine.

How bout getting parents involved in selecting uniforms - a committee ? Or are uniforms decided on a national scale ?

There should have been a bit more direction with respect to Team 1556's uniform issues for new players in the spring.

The size mix this year seemed to work pretty well for my daughter's team. I think that we could have used a few larger-sized shirts - my daughter's barely had room to put a sweatshirt underneath when it was colder. This is a difficult job because the kid's sizes range all over the place and you never know what mix any team is going to get - thanks for allowing us to give some input!

U11 Boys

There never seem to be enough of the right sizes for each team. Can't each child order his own uniform size?

By the time they start playing again in August 2008, he will be in a size Adult Medium.

We didn't like the new socks. On our U11 player they didn't stretch properly over his shinguards. He felt they were uncomfortable. We liked the cotton/poly blend better.

U11 Girls

I really like the thicker socks we have this year and we had a few years ago. Last year the socks were thin and wore out quickly.

Too big at beginning of year but just right now. Just fine.

Too many small uniform sizes given to the teams. I have two daughters on the same team and the younger one who is barely smaller always gets a small size that barely fits. Also SOCCER1SCORE brand fits really snug and isn't as generous size-wise as the SCORE brand.

It's better to go too big than too small, but the shorts were just too much material

It took half of the season to get a pair of shorts and they ended up being too small anyway. She had to use her own. The ones ordered were not the ones we had requested. This year she had to play 3 games in her own shirt because there was only a youth large and it was way too small. It makes her feel bad. Please work on this.

Can you not ask EXACTLY what size shirt and shorts someone wears as part of registration every year, and that is the shirt they get, no matter what? If that is not possible during regular registration, how about for EARLY registration? And when the uniforms come in, the coach has a player list with which player size that particular player gets, and if that does not fit the player, then too bad, because that is the size they signed up for.

U12 Boys

We have red shirts with white trim and black shorts. This was easier to care for than my daughter's mostly white jerseys. The white jerseys show lots of stains.

I'm not sure if you have the return uniform policy this year, but because I haven't seen anything here online, I'm assuming you don't. I think it's a fantastic idea to have players return their uniforms at the end of the season so that they could be donated to teams in need either here in the US or in other countries.

At times in the past we have had uniforms that were too small to begin with. This year was okay but we always worry that they will end up with shorts that are way to short and tight. Shirts that are too big are not a problem as they can be tucked in and allow for wearing a sweatshirt or light jacket underneath during the cold spring games!

There were not large enough shorts to go around and there were way too short. He ended up wearing his own shorts which worked just as well.

We didn't like the new nylon socks. They ripped and were too small to fit over the shin guards properly.

My son has been wearing the adult small shorts from a year ago - the shorts provided NEVER fit.

U12 Girls

We started the season a couple of games late, but the uniform was OK. Luckly, I know.

Socks were too tight and hard to put on.

Some of the colors between teams are too similar to have in a game situation. There were two types of blues, and they were too similar.

JUST SOME OF THE UNIFORMS ARE VERY TIGHT FITTING. IT MAY BE EASIER TO HAVE US GO TRY THEM ON FIRST AND SEE WHAT FITS BEST.

The team got only Medium socks. For 11 year-old girls, we really need mostly Large socks.

U14 Boys

I have 2 comments. One, the shorts we received are too short - these boys are skinny but need them longer in length. 2. Our team never received the 16th uniform. I had to go out and personnaly purchase the matching uniform at the Soccer House - at my own expense. I understand these are purchased in bulk but if our fees are supposed to cover the jersey, an effort shoudl be made to get an odd jersey. Both the coach and us called and no one would address this problem.

U14 Girls

I had to go buy new shorts because the once we had were way too short....I think they had the wrong tag...they said they were youth large, but that was not correct as I purchaed youth large which were much bigger than those provided to the team. She plays on an AYSO select team

Mix the uniform colors and styles within divisions so that best as possible two teams in a division don't have very similar color and styles of uniforms. For example it is very difficult to officiate a game with two purple teams when the uniform color and design are almost identical, including the shorts and socks.

The colors in our league were too similar - purple, two blue teams, etc. It would be nice to have colors that are completely different. The girls did not like the socks. The material was scratchy and they were too tight.

My sons team (this year) uniforms were all in all to small. We managed, but i think all sizes should be moved up by 1 size. (way too many smalls and mediums

For this division I thought there was a good selection of colors. No confusion during the games. For my grandson U-5 Boys to many similar colors.

U19 Boys

The older boys should have shorts that are atleast 6 inches longer. Many of them are wearing longer shorts underneith or are not wearing their uniform issued shorts because they are so short. I think the shirts fit fine but like a v neck not a crew neck.

The kids want the shorts longer in length even though the waist fits fine.

The shorts are too short for the boys in u19. they need to be longer

The colors for u19 need to be quite different not all the same shade its hard to tell the difference

Need better color contrasts between the teams. Out of six teams: med red and maroon were too close, navy blue and black were two close, navy blue and medium blue were too close.

Select uniform colors that are contrasting and do not easily confuse teammates/referees/coaches.

U19 Girls

There are more colors for uniforms than blue and yellow. Uniforms should not be so similar that players are forced to wear jerseys to tell the teams apart during games.

It seemed that there were too many similar colors for the teams this year.

for all the seasons teams have the same colors on opposite teams. same colors blue in the same shade in the division. could be different shades or patterns.

Since you only have 6 girls teams, you might try and mix the colors up a bit. There were 3 teams with very close coloring...It brought some confusion.

The different colors this year were excellent choices! No more blending of similar blues and yellows!

It is hard to believe that in a division with only four teams, two teams have the same colored uniforms. This is not the first year that this has happened.

PLEASE select uniform colors that are distinctly different. As a AYSO referee it is very difficult to distinguish the players when the uniform colors are very close. This seems to happen each year and one team has to play with pennies which block the players number on the back. The Assistanct referees also can not tell who kicked the ball out when the uniform colors are so close. The players themselves have trouble quickly deciding who to kick the ball to when they can not readily tell who is on their team. Thank you.
