Registration for 2010-2011 Season
Our open registration sessions are now complete, and teams for the upcoming season have been formed. If you missed registration, and you'd like to play this fall, you can still get on a team. There are a few openings for players in each division, which we will fill on a first-come-first-served basis.
To be placed on a waiting list, e-mail the Regional Registrar for your child's age group with a subject line containing the child's last name then first name. Example: "[AYSO] Smith, John - waiting list request"
In the body of the message, include the following information:
- The player's first and last name.
- The player's date of birth (month, day and year).
- The player's gender.
- The name of the APS elementary school that serves your neighborhood regardless of which school (elementary, middle school, or high school) your child actually attends.
- Your name.
- Your telephone number.
- Your e-mail address.
- If you are willing to travel outside your neighborhood for your child's practices.
- If you are able to fill a volunteer position.
When you are offered a spot on a team, you will need to complete the registration process, which is outlined below.
Teams Have Been Formed
Most coaches will received their rosters at the Annual Coach and Referee Meeting on August 7th. They will be calling their players during the week ending August 15th. If you registered on time and have not been notified by August 15th, contact your Division Commissioner.

Everything You Need to Know to Register
You will need to bring the following items with you to registration:
- TWO signed copies of the registration form from eAYSO.
- Your volunteer application from eAYSO if you are going to be a coach or ref.
- Your Region 104 Volunteer Sign-up Form (required of everyone, whether you can volunteer or not).
- Kids Zone Parent Pledge initialed, and signed.
- If you are new to AYSO Region 104, you will also need to bring a birth certificate.
Please note: Many, many people found these instructions confusing and failed to bring item 3, the Region 104 Volunteer Sign-up Form. Many of them thought the eAYSO volunteer application was the same thing. Please don't make the same mistake. See item 3, below.
To register for soccer, follow this 7-point procedure.
If you follow these instructions and bring your forms to registration, the process will be pretty quick. If not, you can expect a much longer wait as you fill out the forms there.
1. Registration Form - Required of Everyone
Pre-register on-line at www.eAYSO.org. The on-line registration process takes about 15 minutes. The important points are that you select the APS elementary school serving your neighborhood regardless of where your child attends school, and that you print two copies and bring them to registration. If you've not done eAYSO before, click the "Read More" button to get all the details.
- You'll see options for first time users or returning users. Click on the correct button for your situation. Then you'll get to a screen with General Instructions. Start at the left with Parent – fill in or update all information. You'll then see options for volunteering. Even though you've already completed the Volunteer Sign-Up Sheet you printed, please select any volunteer opportunities that interest you on this page as well.
- Click Next and you'll be asked to enter your region information. We are Region 104. You'll then see a screen verifying you chose Region 104.
- Click Next and it's time to enter or update your child's information. In addition to the * fields, Region 104 requires you to select an APS elementary school and provide an email address. Our volunteers need your email address to be able to easily contact you in case of any registration anomaly.
- When you register a player, you will find a drop down list called "School." Choose the APS elementary (not middle, high, pre or private) school that serves your neighborhood. This is the school district for your neighborhood, not necessarily the school your child attends. This is how the computer places children on teams in or near their neighborhood. IF YOU SELECT "OTHER", YOUR CHILD WILL BE RANDOMLY PLACED ON A TEAM IN THE GREATER ALBUQUERQUE AREA. It is very difficult and time consuming for volunteers to contact parents to find out what school they really meant when they select "Other."
- If your child will be playing in the VIP program, please select VIP as the school.
- If your child has an August birthday, you have a decision to make. AYSO places you on a team based on your age on August 1. APS puts you in a grade based on your age on September 1. Children born in August can play with their age group and be the oldest players on the team or play with their grade and be the youngest players on the team. To let us know your choice, please enter "Play with age" or "Play with grade" in the box on the registration form next to the statement, "Players living in the same household … are registering now". If you leave this box empty, you will probably get a phone call from a registration volunteer, or your child may be placed on a team with his or her age. It is very difficult and time consuming for volunteers to contact parents to find out what division they really wanted.
- If your child will be playing U19 next season, select _U19B if your child is a boy or _U19G if your child is a girl. Because U19 is an experimental division with AYSO National, players are allowed to request to play either a certain coach or with certain friends. In the text box next to the statement, "Players living in the same household … are registering now:" please note either the names of friends or the name of the coach you would prefer to be on your team. If this field is left blank, your child will be placed on a team based on your zip code. Coaches for U19B and U19G will be posted include as they volunteer and are identified. Every effort will be made to accommodate your request, but it is not guaranteed.
- Click submit and you'll return to a page which gives you the option to display and print your forms. Now that early bird registration is complete, you will not be able to pay on-line. You will need to bring cash, check, or money order to late registration.
- Once your on-line registration is complete, you will need to print and sign TWO registration forms, then return to this website and continue with the remaining steps.
- Turn off your pop-up blocker if you have problems printing the forms and receipts.
- When you print your registration form, it will show an even number division (U6, U8, U10, etc.) If that seems wrong, don't worry, as long as the birth date is correct, we'll put your player in the right division.
2. eAYSO Volunteer Application - Required of Some Volunteers
Volunteers who will work with the kids: Coaches, Assistant Coaches, and Referees (as well as Regional Board and Staff Members) must complete a volunteer application on eAYSO. The volunteer application allows us to conduct background checks on our volunteers to make sure the kids are safe. If you are volunteering for one of these positions, fill out the eAYSO Volunteer Application, print it, and bring it to registration unsigned. It is important that you sign it in person in front of a volunteer who will check your picture ID. You will have a chance to do that at registration.
3. Region 104 Volunteer Sign-Up - Required of Everyone
AYSO is an all-volunteer organization. Everyone you meet at registration, at games, and in other interactions with AYSO is a volunteer. You are not required to volunteer in order for your children to play soccer in Region 104, but without volunteers the organization does not work.
Everyone must go to the AYSO Region 104 On-Line Volunteer Sign-Up Form and fill it out. It will provide you with a list of volunteer positions you can choose from. At the end will you will see a receipt that you must print out and put with your eAYSO registration form so you can bring it to registration. Even if you are unable to volunteer, you need to fill out the form.
This is different from the volunteer application on eAYSO. eAYSO is only for volunteers working with kids (plus board and staff) and is used by AYSO National. The Region 104 Volunteer Sign-Up is so that we in Albuquerque can match up volunteers with players so that everyone who wants to help out can.
4. Kids Zone Parent Pledge - Required of Everyone
AYSO's Kids Zone is a dynamic program targeted to eliminate negative sideline behavior. You must complete a Kids Zone Pledge (available in English or Spanish) with your registration. Click on either English or Spanish, fill out the form, and put it with your eAYSO registration form so you can bring it to registration.
5. Coach Evaluation - Optional (but please do)
Returning parents are encouraged to complete a Coach Evaluation survey online. This is really important to help us provide you with a great coach, and it only takes a minute or so. There is nothing to print out and return, so please fill it out.
6. Uniform Survey - Optional (but please do)
Returning parents are also encouraged to complete a Uniform Survey online. This survey will only take a minute and will help us get the right sized uniforms for our players. Like the Coach Evaluation, there is nothing to print and return.
7. Birth Certificate - New Players Only
If a player has never played for Region 104 before, we must see the player's birth certificate. Bring the birth certificate to registration.
If you follow the instructions and bring your forms to registration, the process will be pretty quick. If you forget to bring one of the forms, you will have to fill it out before you can be registered. That will make the process take much longer. Filling out the forms listed above and bringing them with you will make your day better!
If you can volunteer some time to help with registration, please send an email to regional.registrar@ayso104.org; the more volunteers at registration, the smoother and quicker it will be for everyone. And the registration work doesn't end when we turn out the lights at Southwest Secondary Learning Center. If you can spare a few hours one day between the end of April and the end of June, please let the regional registrar know. She could use help filing paperwork and entering information in the computer.
The registration fee for the 2010-2011 season is $75 per player if you register and turn in your forms and payment by May 1 or $85 after May 2. This fee covers uniforms, trained coaching, trained referees, PowerSkills, 22 weeks of practice sessions, and 16 games.
The registration fee for the VIP program is $50 and must be paid in person.
We can accept cash, check, or money order in person.
Remember, you must complete the registration process in person. You must bring in TWO signed registration forms, the Volunteer Sign-Up sheet for each child, and the Kids Zone Pledge initialed and signed for each child. Unless you complete these steps, your child will not be placed on a team.
If you need to withdraw from AYSO before the first game of the fall season, please see the refund policy.
If you want your child to play soccer and you miss the registration period, you can request that your child be placed on a waiting list via the division registrars. If there is space available once teams have been formed, we will add players from the waiting lists. Requesting that your child be placed on a waiting list does not guarantee you will be placed on a team.
